Planning First Day Filming!
So.... we have officially begun planning for filming!
My sister and I have finally sat down and taken time to discuss how we want to structure/pace our documentary segment. We have chosen to make our 5 minute documentary portion on the first and the first five minutes of that episode. We have already a lot of inspiration from David Chang's first episode in his documentary Ugly Delicious, which can be seen in my previous blogs....
Here are the notes we ended up taking:
There was a lot of conversation about what we wanted that first segment to look like. The 2 minutes part that would establish the rest of the series for us. We have it narrowed down to one broad thing (structurally)
Depiction of how society is viewing/telling story of connection VS. our view/ approach to it in our community.
Here is the VERY BRIEF storyboard of it (diff scenes in each box)
A continuation of the breakdown of this idea:

Thoughts/ Resolution:
This "meeting" with my sister has been really significant and helping genuinely picture realistic ways to tell our story. Sometimes I have a bigger idea of how something is in my head and it leads me to not do it. So talking out loud and confronting real ideas is a good motivator for me. Now with this storyboard, we are planning to, like our planner/filming agenda says, film later this week and next week. This is something I need to figure out because I am extremely busy coming up!
