Film Opening Title

Film Opening Title:

Process for picking WHAT title would be:

I've been thinking of what I want my film opening's title to be, and I have a couple of ideas that correlate with my storyline. I want to correlate the title with the idea of something being unfinished or incomplete.

So, I went and researched different synonyms for the word "unfinished":

Some of the words that came up that I was leaning towards were "partial", "abandoned", and "fragmentary". What I wanted to do was choose a word and insert it into the "template" of "The     " , so for example, one title I was considering was "The Abandoned", referring to the case.

But as I looked into each definition of each word, I also noticed the word "fragmentary" in the list of synonyms for "unfinished". This word brought me to immediently think of "fragments", just because I am more familiar with that word and use it more than the adjective form of "fragments". So, I searched up the definition of fragments, and it read:

a small part broken or separated from something

I don’t know why, but I really liked this word more conceptually than I did for “unfinished” or “incomplete”. I also think I really like it because it offers insight into what my story will kind of represent and what it will have to deal with storyline wise, which is the idea that there is always more than one piece to the puzzle (script is coming up so the story will be explained).

SO I am VERY excited to announce that my film openings title is…

FRAGMENTS

WHERE the title would go:

So, after deciding what to name my title, I also decided where to incorporate my title visually in the 2-minute film opening. I decided to put the title at the end of my NYC montage. I want to put it here because I think it offers a sufficient introduction to my opening. Also, I want to create an abrupt shift from the montage to the beginning of the office scene, so ending the montage with the title and then immediately starting the next scene with one of the detectives opening the door or shutting the door loudly is going to establish a tone that I desire for my opening ( which involves chaos).

HOW to incorporate the title (TO BE CONTINUED):

This is one of the things I am going to keep working on. I want to learn how to edit my title into my Adobe with the font I want (import from Canva or another font application). I am going to contact my CBTV film friend, Male, and ask her for advice on importing fonts/adobe because she is more familiar with it than I am.
